This image of the great Clara Barton would be perfect for a nurse, or feminist, or soldier in your life! Born on Christmas Day in 1821 and dying in the Spring of 1912, she was a hospital nurse in the American Civil War. Her claim to fame was founding the American Red Cross. Due to this and her humanitarian work and advocacy for the rights of women, Clara was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame, posthumously, in 1973. Thanks Clara!
